Our Privacy Commitment
Meds is designed with privacy in mind. We believe you should have full control over your medication information. All your data stays on your device - we don't have servers, we don't collect personal information, and we never share your data with third parties.
Information We Collect
Information You Provide
- Medication Details: Names, dosages, schedules, and pill counts you enter
- Reminder Settings: Times and frequencies for your medication alerts
- Photos: Pictures of medications (stored locally only)
- Notes: Any notes or instructions you add
Automatically Collected Information
- Usage Analytics: Anonymous app usage patterns and feature interactions
- Crash Reports: Technical information when the app encounters errors
- Device Information: iOS version and device type for compatibility
Important: We do NOT collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, location data, or any personally identifiable information.
How We Use Information
The information you enter in Meds is used solely to:
- Send you medication reminders at scheduled times
- Track your pill supply and predict refill dates
- Display your medication schedule and history
- Generate adherence reports (locally on your device)
- Improve app stability and features through anonymous analytics
Data Storage & Security
- Local Storage: All medication data is stored exclusively on your iPhone/iPad
- iCloud Backup: If enabled, your data syncs across your devices using Apple's encrypted iCloud service
- No External Servers: We do not operate servers or cloud storage for your data
- Encryption: Data is protected by iOS built-in security features
- App Deletion: Deleting Meds immediately removes all stored data
Third-Party Services
Analytics (Firebase/Google Analytics)
We use Firebase Analytics to understand app usage patterns. This service collects:
- Anonymous usage statistics
- Crash reports and performance data
- Feature usage frequency
No medication names or personal health information is ever sent to analytics services.
You can opt out of analytics in the app settings.
Apple Services
- iCloud: Optional encrypted backup and sync (controlled by you)
- Push Notifications: Local notifications only - no data sent to servers
Your Rights & Controls
You have complete control over your data:
- Access: View all your data within the app
- Export: Export your medication list and history as PDF
- Delete: Remove individual entries or all data at once
- Opt-Out: Disable analytics in app settings
- iCloud: Toggle sync on/off in app settings
Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your data with anyone. Your medication information is never:
- Sold to pharmaceutical companies
- Shared with advertisers
- Used for marketing purposes
- Transmitted to our servers (we don't have any)
Children's Privacy
Meds is intended for users aged 17 and above who manage their own medications. Parents using the app to track family medications should maintain control of the device and app access.
International Users
Meds stores all data locally on your device, regardless of your location. No data is transmitted internationally.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy to reflect changes in our practices or for legal reasons. We will notify you of any material changes through:
- In-app notifications
- App Store update notes
